Golden Cranes 015
These C-10 Cassettes hold two previously unreleased Circuit Breaker tracks. Evolve/repeat and Scapes. Both recorded around the same time for an E.P that never materialised, they use repetitive drums and disjointed electronics with vocals floating above to create a powerful haunting sound. Only 10 have been made with the Lino print made by Edward Simpson as the sleeve.

Golden Cranes 012
An old lady in Milton Keynes gave us her Reel-to-Reel recorder and these tapes document the frankly bizzare stuff we found on there. Fragments of family sing alongs, private moments of oral experimentation and eroded, un-identifiable sounds occupy one side of the tape and, (somewhat symbolically), the flip side is the improvisation we recorded to wipe over the other stuff!
The art work is collaged from the sleeves of some old broken records we where given!

Golden Cranes 008
Golden Cranes 007
One of the first ever Circuit Breaker Gigs! Playing at a Fortissimo records night at Kiln Farm Social Club, in Milton Keynes. After years of playing in rock bands this was our first guitar-less venture onto a stage, choosing instead to arm ourselves with tapes, oscillators and homebuilt tone generators. 12 minutes of thick, slowly evolving drone, pierced only by occasional trombone outbursts! 3inch cd - packed in a neat and minimal cardboard sleeve
Golden Cranes 006
Again, this has since been re-issued under the appropriate heading of Circuit Breaker. This was the 2008 document of 4 songs, 3 of which where featuring in the, (by then), 50/50 live sets - split between improvisation and song structure. Features the crowd favourite, ten minute epic, 'one-note song'!
Golden Cranes 005
New Zealand Improviser and general all round poly-math Rick Jensen's collaborative project ' The Radioactive Ensemble'. Tracks feature Rick and Dave O'Connor on various horns, aswell as Brazilian improviser Rodrigo Montoya on Japanese Shamisen. All tracks are culled from live recordings.... a particular highlight being the group freaking out the audience at a power-electronics night!
Golden Cranes 004
5 Songs by Circuit Breaker. Drawn Together from live gigs, bedroom recordings and even a visit to a 'proper' studio which all took place between Late 2006 to about midway through 2007. The first proper document of a move away from an exclusively improvised approach to song structures. Photo is from brief flirtation with the name 'Simpson Brothers', since been re-issued with the appropriate labelling.
Golden Cranes 003
3inch CD-r - About 15 made (?) - 7 small scale improvisations, each one focusing on a different 'instrument' - violin/cassettes/ oscillators /voice/ roland juno synth and a hideously antiquated boss drum machine all featured - similar in approach to GC 002, but with focus on duo playing rather than collage!

Golden Cranes 002
A solo Piece by Edd Simpson of circuit Breaker, these recordings are an experiment in setting and investigating boundaries. Each song is constructed in a similar way using a different instrument, for example one track is a collage of samples taken from two broken cassette players and another a similar collage made exclusively from voice samples. The results are a dark and surreal sound-scape with an underling subtle but hypnotic repetition. 25 were released in these blue and vivid pink on the inside 3" CDR's... SOLD OUT... Re-released, see Golden Cranes 010
Golden Cranes 001
This is the first of many Circuit Breaker CDR's, the result of hours of low bass frequency experiments with harsh electronics gliding and occasionally jarring over the top. Recorded during early 2006, in a bedroom just as circuit breaker had formed. The end product is this untitled piece. A collection of 14 improvised jams, cut out and interspersed with the odd composed song. Only 10 were ever made... SOLD OUT
